SERVICE LEARNING

Anchor 1
I volunteered at Aurora St Luke's as an Ambassador during the summer of 2016. As an ambassador I had the responsibilities to transport patients around the hospital who were either disabled or didn't have the ability to walk far enough in the hospital to get to their destination due to an injury or old age. It was a volunteering experience that I learned so much from, the experience was all about communication and social skills and by also learning the whole concept of the hospital and learning what many people went through in their lives as I would communicate with them.
AURORA ST. LUKE'S
HAPPY ENDINGS
At Happy endings No kill cat shelter I had the experience for a week to learn what's it like taking care of cats who were either abandoned, or rescued. I would have to clean their cages where they were located, and I also had the responsibility to feed them according to what their daily schedules said. Many of them needed specific food, and some of them needed specific bowls due to allergies. At the end of the day, whenever there was free time, I would have time to play with cats in order for them to also enjoy themselves, there was so many scratches, but it was worth it.
MILWAUKEE RIVERKEEPER
Being a nature person, and love being involved with earth day related events, On April 21st, 2018, I helped out Milwaukee Riverkeeper clean Kinnickinnic River in order to maintain the rivers of Milwaukee clean and safe. It is an annual event held on Earth Day and we clean 63 locations in Milwaukee. It was an incredible learning experience because you never realize how many garbage can be accumulated through out a year, 100,000 pounds of trash can create a really big impact in Milwaukee's rivers. This city really depends on us.
